I needed a CMS to manage users and create custom applications, specially for research purposes. This was about 10 years ago. I tested a lot of CMSs, but DNN eventually came out as the best option.

Jeremy Farrance:
I needed a quick solution to deploying an informational website for the company I worked for. I'd been using mostly Microsoft products, especially SQL Server and IIS for years already. And it was 2004 so I was pretty interested in "this .NET thing." Things were easy, most things I tried to do just worked, and as easy project got more complicated, DNN made things efficient or effective and sometimes both.

Robin Hogg:
Seemed like a good idea at the time. I was following Shawn Walker with his notion of I Buy Spy, which converted into Dotnetnuke. I convinced my two developer partners to have a look at the framework and they liked it. We built a hosting business around the framework. It was open source and free. We sold the hosting business and I concentrated on my own business. Some of our old customers has a bad experience with the company which bought the hosting business, so I took them on as clients of my business. I am still hosting them today. At the moment we are hosting around 43 domains on DNN.

I was a WSI consultant and the Canadian home office were advised to choose it by a major consulting house. This was in the time of DNN 3.

Ryan Moore & Moore Creative:
Back in 2002 we were starting a project to rebuild our custom-made Classic ASP content management system which we had created and used in several projects. A colleague mentioned that we should check out this new version of a thing called DotNetNuke CMS. We dug in, made tests and reviewed the setup, especially with the core elements for Roles and permissions, file management, page management and design and knew that it was 100% what we strove to accomplish. We rolled it out 2 months later for our first DNN project and have never since found another system which rivals DNN for our development projects!
